Estonia and the USA reached an agreement: Crypto fraudsters will be extradited

The Estonian government is extraditing the two names who founded the crypto fraud ring, which was collapsed at the end of 2022, to the USA after 14 months.

According to the news shared by local sources in the country, Ivan Turogin and Sergei Potapenko, one of the founders of HashFlare, who defrauded citizens of 575 million dollars, are being sent to the USA after controversial court decisions. Estonia's Tallinn Circuit Court annotated the return of the two names in November 2023. In its statement following the decision, the Estonian Ministry of Justice stated that sufficient evidence was collected without violating the fundamental rights of individuals. Turogin and Potapenko were arrested by Estonian law enforcement in November 2022 at the written request of the United States.

According to the indictment prepared by American prosecutors, the two men deceived customers at HashFlare with fake crypto mining rental agreements. Prosecutors alleged that Turogin and Potapenko tried to launder $575 million in profits.
